　　專門研究種族音樂的法國浪人，因為一盒錄音上的一把獨特歌聲，來到羅馬尼亞一條吉蔔塞人鄉村，希望能找尋得到那位女歌手。然而其目標隨著在鄉村遇上不同的人、碰上不同的事，不知不覺起了變化。沿途風光明媚，有笑有淚，乍喜乍悲，有吉蔔塞人血統的導演東尼加列夫個人自編自導，更包辦監製和配樂，以流麗的影像和動人的聲音，加上一群非職業演員，譜出一段觸動觀眾靈魂的旅程，乃其「吉蔔塞三部曲」的終章，也被認為是他的最佳作品。
