　　《凝视》为一部心理惊悚片，薇诺娜·瑞德在片中饰演一名剧作家，在进行创作的过程中，她发现自己逐渐产生幻觉，并开始被这些幻觉和噩梦所干扰，让她无法分清哪些是真实、哪些是幻想。至于詹姆斯·弗兰科，将会饰演瑞德剧本中的一位演员。
　　
　　从剧情上看，这个恰好类似薇诺娜·瑞德刚刚出演过《黑天鹅》中波特曼的角色，不过这回主人公成了编剧，而且瑞德成为了主演。影片由Jay Anania执导，他与弗兰科关系很好，因为他是弗兰科在纽约大学导演专业的老师，这恐怕也是两人能够合作的重要原因。另外，Jay Anania执导的另一部作品《影子的赞歌》也宣布会由弗兰科担纲主演。
　　
　　Waterstone则是一个刚刚成立的电影公司，这也是该公司投资拍摄的第一部影片，他们还计划在即将举行的戛纳电影节上寻求新的合作伙伴。
　　
　　除了主演之外，弗兰科还会担任本片制片人。从当前的情况看，弗兰科可能会选择在拍摄山姆·雷米的新片《奥兹巫师》之前抓紧进行这部惊悚片的拍摄。至于薇诺娜·瑞德，她的另一个拍摄计划是重新联手蒂姆·波顿，拍摄新版《科学怪狗》。
