　　法國導演勒貢偶然間聽到作曲家Etienne Perruchon的交響合唱樂章Dogora，深感震撼，始終盼望能將其影像化。直到某日他造訪柬埔寨，被當地的人物與景色所感動，「從來沒有一個國家讓我如此情緒澎湃」：勒貢如是說。一部影像與音樂完美結合的偉大作品於焉誕生。
