　　美国军方在这部片子里下足了本钱，而华纳公司也全面配合，为五角大厦拍军教片，甚至，连片中主题音乐都是军歌进行曲。不过，本片的战争、动作部分，以一九六八年的标準来看，绝对是世界级的。现在讲起越战电影，绝对不能少掉「越南大战」。

　　在「越南大战」之后，美国电影界反战意识抬头，再也不见鹰派主战作品，在此之后，几乎所有越战电影都一面倒反战。
