　　曾执导《幽灵王国》的加里．雪曼，动用并不出名的两个男女主角（加里．斯万生、西塞恩．胡伯勒）以霹雳小组捉拿皮条客为题材，拍成动作片《美国那条街》，成绩相当突出，当年在台湾公映演出时，看座甚佳。本片的主要内容简单直接，描述一名独来独往的妓女‘公主''因好友被皮条客毒打至死，乃答应霹雳小组担任卧底，冒险将皮条客逮捕。不料在押送的过程中皮条客逃了出来，马上要找公主报复，而霹雳小组穷追不舍，期望在最后紧要关头将皮条客再次逮捕。导演以紧凑刺激的节奏和毫不留情的硬派作风来检测卖淫社会的罪恶面，同时又表现出对妓女的同情。虽然该影片由两位新人主演，但两人演出的投入教人激赏。
